CPM formula
CPM = (Ad spend / Impressions) x 1,000
How to calculate CPM
- 1Find the total amount spent in the same reporting window.
- 2Find total impressions for that window.
- 3Divide spend by impressions, then multiply by 1,000.
Hypothetical example: an ad spends $240 and records 30,000 impressions. ($240 / 30,000) x 1,000 = an $8 CPM.
What is a good CPM for Facebook and Instagram ads?
The datasets use different samples and methodologies, so the two figures are context points rather than a promised range.
