Is it safe to use a third-party tool with my Meta ad account?
It can be, if the tool connects through Meta’s official APIs, asks only for the permissions it needs, and lets you see, approve and undo what it does.
No tool can promise that Meta will never restrict an account. Meta decides that, based on what you run. What you can control is how the tool connects and what it is allowed to do.

Seven questions to ask any tool
Use these for Adship and for every tool you compare.
1. Does it connect through Meta’s official API with OAuth?
A safe connection uses Meta’s own login and the Marketing API. The tool should never ask for your Facebook password and should not rely on a browser extension or scraping your session.
2. Which permissions does it ask for?
Read-only access is enough to review results. Write access is needed to launch or edit ads. Ask which one the feature you want needs, and grant no more than that.
3. Who approves changes before they happen?
Look for a step where you approve edits to budgets, pauses and launches, at least at the start. Tools that act on their own should show you what they changed.
4. What state do new ads start in?
Ads created as Paused give you a chance to review them in Meta before any money is spent. Ads created as Active start spending as soon as Meta approves them.
5. Is there a record of what it did?
An activity log tells you which action ran, when and from where. If something looks wrong, that log is how you find out what happened.
6. Can it touch your payment method?
Ad spend is billed by Meta to the payment method on your ad account. A tool that launches ads should not need to add or change that payment method.
7. How do you cut access?
You should be able to disconnect in the tool and also remove the app from your Meta Business settings, so access ends from your side without asking the vendor.
How Adship answers them
- Adship connects to your ad account through official APIs with OAuth. It never asks for your Facebook password and uses no browser extension.
- Agent changes wait for your approval by default, and the Agent and Bulk Launch create ads Paused unless you choose Active.
- Every Agent and MCP action is recorded in the Activity Log, where you can filter and export it as CSV.
- Adship does not add or change the payment method on your ad account. Ad spend is billed by Meta or TikTok to that payment method.
- You can cut access by disconnecting the account in Adship or by removing the app in your Meta Business settings.
Approvals and Paused launches are defaults you can change. You choose what to approve and what to launch as Active.
